Paintings (oil on canvas)

As a painter I always look for forms of pure simplicity in a subtle play of space, light and colour.  What continues to inspire me is the timelessness of an old stone, the stillness of an open landscape.

"What the artist forms, he cannot choose. That is dictated by intuition” (Rilke)

Kristoffel Boudens

Stone lettering

My father, and later my two sisters, my brother and myself, we all got involved with giving shape to words, on paper, stone, canvas...

Yet I see myself as maker in a wider sense. I cut letters in stone, make drawings, paint, sculpt.

I try to relive that childhood fascination when I turned over pebbles along the French coast, lifting into visibility the fossil hidden since times immemorial.

Writing

In the orangery, I look at the birds and the garden, think, read, listen to music, write poetry collections, novels and texts for theatre and opera, write the texts with charcoal on large sheets of paper until they are completely black, and play with clay.
